WELCOME TO MY PORTFOLIO

About Me

Hello! I am Alex Gergely and I would like to welcome you to my portfolio. I am currently living in a suburb of Jakarta, Indonesia—working as an English as a Foreign Language teacher at an Education First sponsored school. Prior to my international move, I spent two years as a secondary chemistry teacher at Manual Arts High School—a public school in South Central Los Angeles. 

Education First owns many of the materials I utilize at my current teaching position, and they cannot be posted online. For this reason, the majority of the work showcased throughout the sections of this site will draw from my experiences as a public school teacher in Los Angeles with samples from my current placement included where possible. 

Before I entered the classroom, I worked with non-profit fundraising foundations for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. It is the connections I made during my time with these organizations that led me to Teach for America and eventually my roles in the classroom. 

I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the most incredible students on two different continents. I hope you enjoy reviewing the work included throughout this portfolio as much as I enjoyed creating and implementing it.
